LUSH Cosmetics reopening at six times the size
The new LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics store in Rundle Mall, Adelaide is set to open early November with an impressive store space of 205sqm at the Myer Centre.
The direction of the new LUSH global concept store design is one of sustainability in both the materials and processes used in the style and look. Materials used are either up cycled, reclaimed or have recycled and recyclable content. This has led to beautiful reclaimed timber furniture, that reduces the contribution of wood to landfill each year, LED lighting throughout shops and a large stained black timber canopy feature over a dedicated events space.
Reclaimed wood has come from the scaffolding of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and concrete sinks have been built which are incredibly durable. The care and detail in each bespoke design matches the work and care that goes into crafting the handmade products from source to shelf and displays it in a setting that shows it has real value.
The design introduces elements like crisp white tiling in skincare areas, signage in key ranges in the store and showcasing raw ingredients that are used in products to communicate the LUSH principles of being handmade and fresh to all customers at a glance.
Michelle Brindle, LUSH Property Development Manager for Australia and New Zealand says, “Customers are always first in everything we do at LUSH, and an innovative shop design is no exception. A LUSH store should feel fun and vibrant, welcoming and exciting.”
As a brand we keep evolving and we have been growing and changing for the past 21 years, successfully continuing our journey today.“
The idea behind our design is to create a magnificent shopping experience for Rundle Mall visitors and to showcase our wonderful fresh, handmade product in the best light possible. In this shop everyone is able to find something they need, whether it is our colourful, naked (packaging free) bath products being demonstrated in this great vibrant environment, or a quiet perfume bar and skincare oasis that offers sit down consultations for those looking for escapism from a crazy shopping world.”
Colourful bath product displays are based on a fruit market look, where fruit is stacked neatly in crates. Large chunks of naked soap are inspired by a cheese shop in Borough market in London. Haircare and shower products reflect old grocers, where ladders were used to reach stock stacked on high top shelves. Skincare represents an English kitchen, with a sit down table, where LUSH staff will demonstrate the products suitable for your skin.
Unique to Rundle Mall LUSH
The massive shop is across two levels, divided by a few stairs and a ramp, ensuring the store is accessible to everyone. The large store has a dedicated events space, a first for LUSH in Australia. Here hen’s night parties, children’s parties and blogger events can be hosted to hand make our fresh products in a more intimate setting.
